Please remember to remove any of your own items including bedding and put out any waste.
Travel home safely
During your Stay
We have cleaned the apartment for you on arrival. After that you will obviously wish to go out and enjoy yourself and we hope you will do all you can to keep yourself safe and also avoid the danger of bringing back any virus as far as possible.
We don’t ask any more than that you conform to Government guidelines to social distance, use hand sanitizer wherever it is made available and of course to wash your hands when returning to the apartment and whenever you feel it is necessary.
Illness
If you should become ill during your stay you must inform us immediately so that we can discuss the best course of action.
You should immediately self-isolate to minimise any risk of transmission.
If any infectious illness is confirmed you should return home unless this is impossible using private transport but you should drive yourself only if it is safe to do so.
The Welsh Government have stipulated that where a guest cannot leave the premises due to their illness then they must pay all costs which result. This would include anything we have to do to assist you but also may involve compensating us for lost income from other guests whose holidays we have to cancel.
You will be aware that the general NHS line for advice is 111 but the number of the local surgery is 01834 815115 should you need this. Please note these rules were originally put in place for Coronavirus but we have kept them in force for any other possibility. Hopefully they will never be needed!!
Manager Contact
When you arrive the apartment should be cleaned and ready for occupation and with these notes and other notes on the website you should not need assistance.
In the event of problems there are contact details in the apartment. Always contact us if you have a problem as we would always want to try to resolve it as soon as possible. Please don't put up with something and then tell us after you leave.
Just a few Apartment Rules
There is no smoking allowed in the apartment. If you smoke outside please ensure that all cigarettes are carefully extinguished and butts disposed of.
Candles are not allowed in the apartment due to fire risk.
Central heating is provided at the premises and when required will be pre-programmed to operate twice a day in the morning and evening. Under no circumstances should the boiler controls be interfered with. To switch on the heating outside of the pre-set periods just press the button MAN for manual on the thermostat/controller. To switch off there is an OFF button. Radiators also have thermostat controls to increase or reduce the output of individual radiators.
The apartment is annexed to the house. It has its own fusebox above the front door. In the event of you using a faulty appliance or possible misuse of appliances, fuses may trip. If this happens check the trip switches in the apartment. Sometimes however a fault my trip the master fusebox in the main house and in these circumstances the manager must be contacted and this will require a visit by her to rectify this. For this reason and the inconvenience it may cause please take care when using electrical appliances.
Food Shopping
McColls - Our closest shop is in New Hedges (directions above). This has easy parking and boasts a letter box, post office, an ATM for withdrawing money and, most importantly, easy parking.
Sainsbury - This is in Tenby. If you park in the multi storey car park in Park Road, you will find Sainsbry next door. Parking after 7.00pm is currently free of charge but please check as these things tend to change according to the season.
Co-Op - There are two. The larger is in Kilgetty and has a large, easily accessed car park. The smaller is at The Green, Tenby and is a little more awkward to drive into.
Tesco - There are Tesco Direct stores in Tenby and Saundersfoot. You can park for half and hour free in the Saundersfoot Regency Hall Car Park. Please take a ticket from the machine to register your time of parking.
If you want the well known big names and more choice then you want to go as far as Pembroke Dock where you will find large ASDA, Tesco, Aldi & Lidl supermarkets as well as other shops.
WIFI
Wifi is provided and the current wifi key should be in the apartment. The wifi is intended for email and web browsing but should not be used for large downloads or online gaming. These are not restricted but they will impact the service and may be cut off if the network slows. You will be advised of the network and wifi key prior to arrival in a welcome email.
Hall Light and Outside Light
There are two switches near the front door. One is for the outside light and the other for the hall. The one with the bit of red tape is the hall light.
Waste
Every local authority seems to have different rules. We need to ask you to separate certain items into specific boxes. These are glass and food waste. Food waste goes into the little grey food waste bin in the kitchen and then into the green food waste bin outside. Glass of any sort goes into the large open box for glass outside. Rather than complicate the remaining recycling rules we ask you put paper, cardboard, cans and plastic items into orange bags and put all other general waste in the grey bags. Please avoid putting any of those recyclable items in the grey bag as if they see them they will not take them away. We will then sort the recyclable items as necessary.
There is a bin outside the front door of the flat for your use and if you fill a grey bag you can put it into my black wheelie bin. You can also put orange bags into my yellow wheelie bin. Please do not put loose items into either bin. The wheelie bins themselves are not emptied only the bags are taken away.
If you wish you can put vegetable waste in the small plastic bin and I will put that into the compost bin.
Outside furniture
The cushions for the outside furniture are kept in utility room in the apartment. They are on top of the cupboards. Please bring them inside if you are going out and there is any chance of rain. If they get wet then they may be unusable for the remainder of your stay.
Garden
Feel free to wander in the garden and use the area of lawn at the side of the apartment as your own. There is a small paved area where you may use portable BBQs.
Local Fresh Fish deliveries
A local fishmonger calls on Thursday afternoons usually at around 3pm. I usually leave a cool bag out for him with my order. If you would like fresh fish and we are here please let me know and I will add your requirements to mine.
Laundry
There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room There are washing capsules, laundry basket and pegs etc. in there. Feel free to use them. There is also a rotary clothes line for your personal use near the steps to your decking.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Mount Pleasant. Please do not leave your dog alone in the apartment. Unfortunately the size of the garden makes it impracticable to fence it off as a secure area but obviously the dog can be allowed out of the house on to the patio area as long as you are sure they won't jump the fence.
We have left “dog” towels in the utility room cupboard to help keep the apartment clean.
Water
Mount Pleasant has a natural spring well! We have added a filtration and UV light system to ensure the water is perfectly safe for consumption. In our opinion it is the best tasting water we have ever tasted! Feel free to help yourself from the external tap at the side of the main house near the parking area.
Bathroom Extractor Fan
The extractor fan comes on automatically when the light is switched on in the bathroom. It will go off automatically after a delay when the light is switched off. It is recommended that you use the light switch when using the bathroom even during daytime to control the extractor fan.
The pull cord is not needed unless you wish to use the extractor fan for additional ventilation and if switched on using the pull cord will not automatically switch off. If you have switched the extractor on with the cord you will have to use the pull cord to switch it off.
The extractor fan is important in preventing dampness and condensation and under no circumstances should it be disconnected using the fuse switch.
If you need any assistance with it please call the manager.
Ventilation
The apartment has a Positive Input Ventilation system. The main switch for this is above the front door. This helps to
l Reduce surface condensation
l Stops streaming windows
l Remove musty odours
l Improves air quality
l Enhances heat distribution
l Benefits asthma sufferers
Feel free to turn it on whenever you feel the apartment may benefit from it.
Seagulls
DO NOT be tempted to feed the seagulls! They will never forget their free meal and will become a nuisance. They will not hesitate to take food from your plate or even your hand. It can be quite distressing.
Your Mount Pleasant Entertainment
The apartment is supplied with a host of options for your listening and viewing. There is Sky TV and also Netflix along with all the normal channels.
The control with SKY on operates all the SkyQ functions but use the LG control to switch the TV on and off. Only use the SKY On/Off switch to switch the SKYQ box on and off. If you leave it on (green light) you shouldn’t need to touch it.
When watching SKY using the HOME button (just above the blue button on the control) will bring up the main menu and you should be able to find your way round the control from there. When using Netflix please use the Apartment user profile.
We can never guarantee the SKY service but if for any reason the service is interrupted there is normal FREEVIEW TV available. To switch to FREEVIEW use the INPUT button on the LG control to select ANTENNAE and then use the LG control to change channels etc.
If you cannot get SKY channels check that the SKY box green light is on. Beyond that there is nothing you can do except ask the owners of the house if they are about. Unfortunately we are often away during periods when the apartment is let and and the manager can only deal with changeovers and emergencies so such things as SKY service or WIFI being interrupted is outside of her control.
Sometimes SKY do things like an update of the SKY box and so when that is the cause it will just come on of its own accord once they finish. They tend to do this overnight but not always.
LOCAL NOTES
Footpath to the beach/coast path
If you go out of my drive and turn right down the hill, you will reach the entrances to the two caravan parks, Broadfield Farm and Saundersfoot Bay Leisure Park. Go into the Saundersfoot Bay park and just basically keep walking in a straight line to the bottom of the park. You should find a little bridge at the bottom over a small stream and a gate on the other side of it. Turn left after going through the gate and keep going until you reach the end. If you have a dog make sure it is on a lead through the caravan park. That is the only thing which upsets them if people walk through.
The end of that path is a small beach which is completely underwater at high tide but at low tide you can walk along to Saundersfoot harbour and main beach by turning left.
Alternatively just before the beach the coast path goes off to the left towards Saundersfoot or to the right towards Tenby. If you head for Tenby it’s quite up and down and much longer than going by road but it is a lovely walk with some great views.
Monkstone/Trevayne beach
If you don’t want to go into Saundersfoot or Tenby to the main beaches, there is a beautiful beach closer to us. Either drive or walk to Trevayne Farm - turn left out of our drive, left into New Hedges and immediatly first sharp left. The road ends at the farm and there is a limited amount of parking at the side of the road. It is exactly one mile from my house to Trevayne Farm. When you get to the farm, take the right-hand gateway and walk through the farmyard past the farm buildings. You will see the sea. Take the access through a gate into a large field on the left. When you get to the gateway at the bottom of the field follow the second footpath to the right. It is a steep stepped walk and therefore only suitable for quite fit people but because of this it is quiet even at peak season.
Nearest place to eat/drink
The nearest place is Broadfield Farm just over the road and down the hill a bit. You will see a sign for Janz – that was his late wife’s name. He has a bar there and serves food in the evening. He also does a very reasonable Sunday lunch with all the trimmings.
The next nearest is the Tavern pub in New Hedges. So just go out of my drive and turn left up the road then turn to the left just before the roundabout (but not down the road to Trevayne) into New Hedges. That’s just less than a mile. Obviously there are lots more places if you want to go into the village or Tenby.
Local Parking
Saundersfoot - The village is well worth a trip with some interesting shops and places to eat. If you just need to nip down to the village for a few things you can park in the Regency Car Park free for half an hour - take a ticket from the machine to prove your arrival time. Go down the hill and turn left at the mini roundabout in the village and you will see the car park just after the Arcade on your left. There is also the Harbour car park found on the right of the mini roundabout in the village. It is a lovely place to enjoy good harbour views but in our opinion it is expensive.
Coppett Hall Car Park - has direct access to the beach. Drive through the village taking the left turn off the mini roundabout, follow the road to the three way road junction. Take the narrow road straight ahead and turn right at the t-juction. Turn left after the school parking. This takes you out of the village and Coppett Hall is soon found on your left.
Tenby - In high season there is a Park and Ride system in place in Tenby. Leave your car in the Salterns Car Park then catch the bus into the town. They drop you off at the town walls. At New Hedges roundabout take the first turning into Tenby, take the second turn, right on the first mini roundabout. By the garage there is a series of two mini roundabouts. Take the second exit on them both then take the first turn left toward the large Salterns Car Park.
Its almost impossible to park in the centre of Tenby and if you drive straight into the town you will often be stuck for a while getting back out as it is narrow. There are also pedestrianisation restrictions from May to September. The Park Road Multi-storey Car Park is best for centre of town access and not very expensive. From New Hedges roundabout, take the second turn on the first mini roundabout, at the second mini roundabout take the first turn left, up the hill and under the railway bridge, keep going with the town wall on your left, till you see the War Memorial on your right. Follow that road round the memorial and you will soon see the multi storey on your left. Sainsbury’s is next to the multi-storey as well as the main town bus stop and Tourist Information Centre.
For the beautiful South Beach there is a car park right which is reasonable in price (and free after 5pm) but can be very busy at peak times. To get there follow the instructions to the Tenby War Memorial, swing round the memorial and then fork left down Trafalgar Road, there is a glass workshop on the corner. Go to the end t-junction, turn left and follow the narrow winding road down to the beach car park. I think its £4 for all day but only about 40p for a couple of hours.
Gas Lane long stay car park is a bit further from the town centre but still not too far from the beautiful North Beach. From New Hedges roundabout, take the first turning into Tenby, first left turn at the first mini roundabout down Narberth Road. The car park in on the left.
Nearby Walks
The Pembrokeshire National Park has a 186 mile long coast path so there is plenty of choice for walking. Here are a few of my local suggestions. If you find a beautiful walk please feel free to tell me so that I can incorporate it in this list. Please note that payment is expected at nearly all parking places now.
Trevayne to Tenby
Either drive or walk the mile to Trevayne Farm. Turn left out of our drive, left into New Hedges and immediatly first sharp left. The road ends at the farm and there is a limited amount of parking at the side of the road. When you get to the farm, take the right-hand gateway and walk through the farmyard past the farm buildings. You will see the sea. Take the access through a gate into a large field on the left. When you get to the gateway at the bottom of the field follow the Coastal path to the right. Just keep going and you will get to Tenby. There are stunning views but there are steep inclines where the path goes down into a valley and out again. That is the hardest bit.
You can make it a circular walk by leaving Tenby along the Narberth Road. This goes with the North Beach on your right but you need to keep left at the fork at the end of the North Beach. When the road passes signs for the Gas Lane car park and Hospital on your right and swings round in a wide bend, there is a small, wooded, steep lane on your right which goes past the cemetery, it is called Slippery Back. This lane eventually comes out on the main Tenby road but there is a cycle path/walking path to New Hedges. Go up through New Hedges and turn right to get back here. The walk is 6-7 miles.
Penally to Lydstep or Tenby
This walk incorporates a beach walk so be aware that a lower tide would make the walk more interesting.
To get to Penally, drive towards Tenby but before going down the big hill into Tenby, turn right into Serpentine Road, go right at the mini roundabout, left at the t-junction, then right at Tenby Leisure Centre for Penally. Follow the road with the dunes on your left and park in Penally Station car park also on the left.
Go over the railway line through the gates and follow the path through the golf course to the beach.
1. Turn right at the beach, (This is the far end of Tenby’s South Beach) and walk along the beach until you reach the headland (this is Giltar Head). It is a nice short walk around Giltar Head (keep to the edge for the best views of Caldey Island etc) or you can continue along the cliffs all the way to Lydstep (and even further if you want to go through Lydstep Holiday Park and up to the next headland. But that’s quite a long walk and you will probably need to walk back the same way.
2. Turn left at the beach and walk along the beach. You can see Tenby ahead of you. There is a good cafe near the South Beach Car Park or if the tide is low enough, walk further along the beach and round into Castle Beach where St Catherines Island with is fort sits. Then up the short slope into the town for a view down into the harbour. Maybe you have time to visit the museum or the lifeboat station? Walk around the Castle mound and see the bandstand, castle and Prince Albert’s memorial statue. Then back along the beach to where you entered.
Saundersfoot to the Heritage Park (Pleasant Valley).
Park in Saundersfoot (or walk down). Follow the road of shops which runs parallel with the beach. This is called The Strand. At the end of the road there is an old railway tunnel. You can then follow the path through that tunnel and two further tunnels first to Coppett Hall then on to Wiseman’s Bridge. Near the stone bridge at Wisemans Bridge take the path on the left. It’s a sort of path/bike track. That leads to what is called the Heritage Park and Stepaside. As an alternative if you don’t wish to pay any parking you can drive to Stepaside and park free at the Heritage car park and then walk through in the opposite direction to Saundersfoot. The tunnels are old train tunnels from when coal was mined in the countryside around here and shipped out from the Saundersfoot Harbour.
To get to Stepaside by car turn left out of my drive, right at the roundabout, right at the Kilgetty roundabout and first right (about ¾ miles from the roundabout). Go down the hill into Stepaside and take the first left again and then a further left under the road. Then look out for the car park on your right. If you get lost ask for “Pleasant Valley Heritage Park” Start your walk by coming out of the car park and turning right.
Skrinkle Haven/Manorbier
Head towards Manorbier (follow the directions above to get to Penally but keep going on that road past the Lydstep Haven entrance and through Lydstep. A mile or so further on you will see signs for Manorbier and take a left turn off the main road. Go round the bend to the right and then you will see a turning on your left after the first row of houses. It is signposted Skrinkle. The road heads towards the military camp but at the gates of the camp there is a sharp left turn. Carry on over the speed humps etc. past the hostel on your left and you will find parking near the cliff edge (free). You can walk around the headland for the excellent views or head along the coast path back towards Lydstep.
If you also want to go around the headland at Manorbier you can go back to the junction and turn left to carry on to Manorbier and go down the hill past the imposing Manorbier Castle and past the chargeable car park, up the steep hill to find free parking on the left overlooking the beach. There is a walk across the beach and up the cliffs on the other side which goes all the way around the headland back towards Skrinkle Haven.
Swallow Tree Woods
Walk through Saundersfoot Bay Caravan Park at the bottom of the hill outside my drive (same side as the house). If you walk the main road through the caravan site there is a gate at the bottom and this gives you access to the woods. The walk through the woods is very pretty and if you head left after the gate you will come to Swallow Tree Bay which is good for swimming and, I have been told, fishing. Tide depending, you can easily walk along the beach into Saundersfoot,
Places to Visit
In Pembrokeshire we are spoiled for choice with abundant places to visit. Google is the best place to find out about most of them of course, however may I nudge you to consider these?
Manorbier, Carew and Pembroke Castles are all outstanding ancient buildings well worth a visit and all in south Pembrokeshire and of easy reach of the apartment.
Bosherston Lily Ponds
Barafundle Beach
Carew Tidal Mill
Folly Farm
Manor House Wildlife Park
Caldey Island
Skomer Island
.. to name but a few..
Beaches
Where to start? Beautiful golden sandy beaches are all around us.
Saundersfoot - including Coppett Hall beach
Wiseman’s Bridge beach
Amroth
Tenby - North Beach, South Beach, Castle Beach and Harbour Beach
Manorbier
Barafundle Beach
Down by the River
Pembrokeshire has some of the best beaches in the UK but it also has a big river, the River Cleddau which forks into an upper and lower river. This is why Milford Haven, where it meets the sea, in Welsh is called Aberdaugleddau or "the mouth of the two Cleddau". It's pronounced like Cletheye.
A nice little day out is to visit a few places on the lower river and so this suggested trip covers Carew, with its Castle and Tidal Mill, Creswell Quay with its river mooring and very nice pub "The Cresselly Arms", and Lawrenny which has a harbour and small marina. You ean visit any one of these places on their own or see all three comfortably in a day with not much travelling and no parking charges!!
Turn right from the New Hedges roundabout at the top of my road, straight over the coming two mini roundabouts and continue to the next roundabout at Kilgetty and turn left. Keep going through a set of lights at Broadmoor until you get to the next roundabout, go straight over that to the next roundabout signposted for Carew and turn right to Carew. Go past the castle and across the stone bridge and immediately after it turn left and cross the cattle grid into the car park. There is a lovely view of the castle from there and I recommend following the footpath at the far end of the car park to the Tidal Mill and continuing to walk around Carew Castle until you come round in a circle to walk across the stone bridge again and back to the car park, it's
probably about a mile long walk and flat. As you come back towards the main road on the far side of the castle you will also be able to see an ancient Celtic cross in front of the castle.
After Carew come back to the main road and turn left until you see signs for Cresswell Quay or Pisgah and turn left in their direction. Continue down the hill at the end of the road into Cresswell Quay. You can park in the little car park or just on the road or grass alongside the river. As this is a tidal river you may see the water right up to little quay and even boats moored there but if the tide is out then there will be very little water at all. If you are feeling adventurous there is a set of stones where you may walk over the river at low tide.
When you've had enough of that and perhaps a pint of fine beer in the ivy clad pub,
you can continue to Lawrenny Ferry, so called because there did used to be a ferry across to Neyland.
To go to Lawrenny, continue on the road you came in on and go across a stone bridge and take the first left. Keep going until you get to Lawrenny village and take a left turn signposted for the ferry.
You can park in the pub car park or continue on to other parking. There is a nice restaurant/cafe at the far end.
Nice places to have lunch are either the Carew lnn or "the Doghouse" pub in Lawrenny or you can just take a picnic, there are places to sit at all these venues.
These are just a few suggestions but wherever you go you will see the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.
Dog Walks near Mount Pleasant
With 186 miles of National Park coastal path there is no shortage of lovely walking opportunities in Pembrokeshire but obviously some of the coast path tracks are not suitable for walking a dog. These suggestions are all suitable for dogs though sometimes you will need to keep the dog on a lead for safety. They can be enjoyed without a dog as well of course. I have kept the list to within about three miles of Mount Pleasant and some don’t need the car at all or if you use it then you can park free.
New Hedges woods
You can walk from Mount Pleasant to New Hedges or drive and park in the village hall. From Mount Pleasant New Hedges is left out of Mount Pleasant then first left off the road. After turning left don’t take the sharp left to Trevayne but keep going down the hill and the village hall is on your left at the bottom of the hill with a small wall around the car park. Cross the road from there and go through a gap alongside a cottage to the main road. Cross the road using the crossing place and go straight on down the unmade lane. Look out for a woodland path on your left. The path is clear although it can be a bit damp in places in wet weather. Eventually you will come to a railway bridge where the train from Saundersfoot to Tenby passes over the path. At this point you can go left before the bridge to bring you back out on the Tenby Road or for a longer walk take a left turn after the bridge and the path will eventually go to the outskirts of Tenby. Depending on which path you follow towards the end of the road you will either come out near the Swimming Pool in Tenby or into Lammack Vale which comes out on the main Tenby to Narberth road. The entire walk is a long walk but you can turn back at any time depending on how far you want to go.
Begelly Old Miners path.
Begelly is about three miles away from Mount Pleasant. To get to Begelly turn left out of Mount Pleasant and at the roundabout take the right turn and keep going until you reach the A477 roundabout. Go straight across this roundabout and on a short way to another roundabout. Go straight across this roundabout in the direction of Narberth and Cardigan but only go a short way up a steep hill and round the bend. As you round the bend you will see the church ahead on your left with a small road to the right of it. You can park in the church if open or somewhere along the road running alongside the church. Follow this very quiet made up road until you get to a bridleway or drive further down and park somewhere. A good place further down is near a white wall on your right. Dogs can be left off the leash but be careful that they don’t enter fields on either side as there will be sheep and horses in them.
Trevayne Caravan Park
Turn left out of Mount Pleasant and take the first left (sharp left) where there is a sign for Treayne. There are four choices here. Walk to and down Trevayne Road or drive to the end of the road and park on the lefthand side grass verge. Go through the gate on the right for all walks.
For walk 1 (Probably strictly for caravanners but nobody has ever complained to me). Take the gate on your right into the caravan park, bear left and follow the path through the caravan park until you see a the shower block on your left. Just after this and behind it is a gate. Go through the gateway closing the gate. You can walk around the woods or there are paths through the woods here and there.
For walks two, three and four don’t take the gate into the caravan park but keep going on the stony road through the farm buildings and into the touring caravan field on the right after the farm buildings. Turn left as you enter the field heading down towards the sea which will be in view now. There is a stile at the end of the path and you can go left for a walk 2 or right for walks 3 and 4.
Walk 2 (left after the stile) goes to Saundersfoot on the coast path and about halfway there is a small beach. At this point you are in Swallow Tree woods. You can take the dog on the beach here if the tide is not fully in or you can walk left into the woods and various paths in the woods or you can carry on the path to the Glen Beach area of Saundersfoot. At the end of this path you will need to walk on the road for a bit into the village centre. (Alternatively if the tide is far enough out you can walk all the way into Saundersfoot on the beach,
Walk 3 (slightly right after the stile and down the narrow path). This path is not suitable for anyone with breathing difficulties or respiratory problems as it involves a testing hill back up from the beach. This downhill path leads to Trevayne beach which is a beautiful beach which usually has no more than a handful of people on it because of the hill walk but dogs can be allowed off the leash on the beach and on the path with care.
Walk 4 (sharp right after the stile). This part of the coastal path leads to Tenby. There are places where you will need to keep tight control of your dog as it could be dangerous but most of it is fine. When you reach Tenby if you wish to you can get a bus back from Park Road bus station. Buses 351, 352, 361 and 381 all come past Mount Pleasant. Just ask the driver to stop at Broadfield and tell you when you get there.
Wisemans Bridge
To get to Wisemans Bridge turn right out of Mount Pleasant and down the hill to the village centre. Turn left and then right in the village and keep going between the houses at the junction at the top of the hill and then first right past the school. Then turn left at the bottom heading away from the village. You will pass Coppet Hall car park on your right but keep going until you come down the hill into Wisemans Bridge. You can just park overlooking the beach here wherever there is a free spot. You can then walk the dog on the beach or on the leash it is a nice walk heading back to Saundersfoot overlooking the beach through the old coal train tunnels.
Penally
Go left out of Mount Pleasant to the roundabout and left towards Tenby. After the mini roundabout just outside Tenby turn to the right just at the sharp bend (into Serpentine Road). At the end of the road turn right and down the narrow road to the junction and turn left past the leisure centre. At the main road junction take a right turn to Penally (about a mile or so from there). Park in Penally station or if full, somewhere on the roadside nearby and then take the path over the train lines. After crossing the train lines follow the path through the golf course until you get to Tenby South Beach. At this part of the beach dogs can be walked or let off the leash. You can just use the beach or turn right on the beach and take the path up the hill to Giltar Head. From here you can just walk around the head or you can go through a further gate at the top and if you like walk all the way to Lydstep on the cliff path. On Giltar Head and the cliff path you do need to be careful with the dogs as cliffs are obviously dangerous although beautiful.
We hope you find these notes useful and most of all have a lovely stay.
